Recover abandoned carts on WhatsApp

When a Shopify cart is left behind, Agentzee messages the buyer on WhatsApp, can attach a one-time code, and places an AI call if the chat goes quiet.

The sequence

Shopify sends the abandoned cart. The buyer is matched to a CRM contact. The first WhatsApp template goes out only if that person has opted in. A second note can include a discount created for that cart. If there is still no reply, the voice agent calls, confirms the items, and books a slot or sends the checkout link back into the chat.

  • First reminder while the cart is still familiar.
  • A code that is tied to the cart, not a public coupon.
  • An AI call logged on the same CRM card.
  • A human handoff if the buyer asks for a person.

What this is not

This is not a blast to people who never shared a number. WhatsApp templates for marketing need an opt-in. Utility updates about an order the buyer placed are a different conversation category, and the calculator prices them separately.

The reminder that gets a reply

An abandoned cart message works when it names the product and answers the doubt that stopped checkout. For fashion that is size. For food it is the delivery window. For COD it is whether the pin code is serviceable. A generic 'you left something behind' gets ignored. Agentzee can send the template from the Shopify event and let the bot handle the reply in the same thread.

Wait long enough that the buyer is not still on the payment page, and not so long that they bought it somewhere else. Many stores start at about an hour, then read the replies before they add a second nudge. A discount on the first message trains people to abandon. Offer it only when the reply shows price is the objection.

Measure the conversation, not the open

WhatsApp opens are high. The number that matters is how many carts became orders, and how many of those replies needed a person. The CRM stage from cart to paid tells you that. If the bot is wrong about a size, fix the size chart before you send more messages.

Questions people ask

Does this work without Shopify?

Yes. Any store that can send a cart webhook into a workflow can start the same WhatsApp and call sequence. Shopify is the path we document first.

Can the discount be single-use?

Yes. The workflow can ask Stripe or your store to mint a code for that buyer and put it in the WhatsApp message.
