A number can be connected and a chatbot drafted the same day. Template approval and the verified badge depend on Meta's review, not on a setup fee.
Can I keep my current WhatsApp number?
Yes, if that number can be registered on the API. A number that is active on the WhatsApp Business app has to be deleted from the app before it can move.
