WhatsApp Text Formatter
WhatsApp uses characters around a word, not a rich-text editor. This page wraps the selection, shows the phone preview, and copies the markers.
What this tool does
WhatsApp does not accept HTML bold. It accepts a small set of markers: *bold*, _italic_, ~strikethrough~, and ```monospace```. A formatter that outputs HTML will look wrong in the chat. This one outputs the markers WhatsApp already understands.
The preview on the page renders those markers so you can see the message before you paste it. The character count includes the markers, because WhatsApp counts them too.
How to use it
- Select the words that should stand out.
- Click Bold, Italic, Strike, or Mono.
- Check the phone preview, including a quote line that starts with > if you added one.
- Copy the text, not a screenshot.
Worked examples
Order update: Your order is *confirmed*. The word confirmed is bold in WhatsApp.
Price: Was ~₹2,000~ now ₹1,500. The old price is struck through.
Common mistakes
- Nesting every style on the same word. WhatsApp is unreliable when markers overlap.
- Putting a space inside the markers, as in * confirmed *.
- Using HTML tags such as <b>.
Use it on a live WhatsApp number
Formatted text is still a template if you send it first to a customer. The markers do not skip approval.

How do I make text bold on WhatsApp?
Put an asterisk on each side of the words: *like this*.
How do I italicise?
Use an underscore on each side: _like this_.
How do I strike through text?

Wrap the word in three backticks.
Does the preview send a message?
No. Copy the text and paste it yourself.
Are the markers counted?
Yes. The counter includes them.
Can I format a broadcast?
Yes, inside an approved template. The formatter does not send the broadcast.
Do I need an account?
No. The tool runs in the browser. Sign-up is only for sending the result on the official WhatsApp Business API.
