Confirm, then ship

A new COD order triggers a WhatsApp template: items, address, and two replies, confirm or cancel. No reply within the window you set starts an AI call in the buyer's language. Confirmed orders move to prepaid when the buyer accepts a payment link. Cancelled orders never leave the warehouse.

Why RTO drops

Return to origin is often a buyer who did not expect the parcel. A confirmation on the same channel they use every day catches the wrong address and the changed mind before the shipment is created.

Confirm before the parcel moves

COD fails when the address is wrong or the buyer was not serious. A WhatsApp message that asks them to confirm the address, before pickup, is cheaper than a return. Agentzee sends that from the order event. If they reply with a change, a person updates the order. If they do not reply, you have a rule: wait, call with the voice agent, or hold the shipment. Pick one and write it down.

Prepaid nudges belong in that same thread, as a choice, not a threat. Some buyers will switch when you show the UPI link. Some will not. Count the ones who confirm and the ones who cancel. That is the RTO number you can actually change.

Do not mix this with a sale

A COD confirmation is about an order they placed. Do not attach a new collection or a coupon for a different product. That is a marketing conversation and it needs its own opt-in. Mixing them is how a delivery update starts getting reported.
