Website WhatsApp Button Checker
Enter one public https address. The server fetches that page, looks for wa.me or api.whatsapp.com, and reports what it found. It does not crawl the rest of the site.
What this tool does
Many sites hide the WhatsApp button in a chat plugin that only appears after JavaScript, or they link to a personal number with no first message. This check looks at the HTML of one public page for wa.me and api.whatsapp.com. If the button is injected only by a script, this check can miss it, and the result says the HTML had no link.
The fetcher refuses localhost, link-local addresses, and a robots.txt that disallows the page. One page, no follow-on crawl.
How to use it
- Use the canonical URL, including https.
- If the result is empty, view the source. A button that exists only after a click will not be in the HTML.
- Add a prefilled message so the chat does not open blank.
Worked examples
A footer link to https://wa.me/9198…?text=Hi is a pass, with a prefilled message.
A link to https://wa.me/9198… with no text is a pass on the link and a miss on the prefilled message.
Common mistakes
- Pasting a URL that is behind a login.
- Expecting the checker to click through a cookie banner.
- Using the tool to scan a list of competitors. It is one page at a time, and it is rate limited.
Use it on a live WhatsApp number
If the page has no button, the chat button tool on this site writes the HTML.
A website chatbot is the next step when the same questions arrive all day. That is a product feature, not this check.

Do you crawl my whole site?
No. One URL.
Do you store the HTML?
No. The response is the finding, not a copy of the page.
What if robots.txt disallows the page?
We do not fetch it.
Why might a visible button be missed?
Because it was added by JavaScript after the HTML loaded.
Can I check localhost?
No.
Do I need an account?
No. The tool runs in the browser. Sign-up is only for sending the result on the official WhatsApp Business API.
