How Flipkart calculates deductions from seller payouts
Flipkart Seller Hub employs a structured 4-pillar fee calculation on every dispatched order:
- Marketplace Commission: A percentage fee calculated on the item's final selling price, tailored by category and price point (e.g. 13% for western wear >₹500).
- Fixed Fee: A flat processing charge per item based on the order value bracket: ₹13 for orders under ₹300, ₹15 for ₹301–₹500, ₹30 for ₹501–₹1000, and ₹63 for orders above ₹1000.
- Collection Fee: A payment gateway and cash handling fee of 2.0% for prepaid online transactions, or a flat ₹15 for Cash on Delivery (COD) orders.
- Shipping Fee: Logistics charge based on weight tiers and geographic zones (Local starting around ₹43, Zonal ₹52, National ₹72 for the first 500g).
- 18% GST: Applied across all Flipkart service fees and debited before bank disbursement.
Flipkart Fulfilled (FBF) vs Non-FBF: The Smart Tier Advantage
Sellers participating in Flipkart's FBF (Flipkart Fulfilled) or qualifying for Gold/Silver seller tiers benefit from subsidized shipping and lower fixed fees per order.
However, sellers must balance these savings against warehouse pick-and-pack charges and strict SLA inventory handling requirements.
