Input:

A sample image and overlay video.

To check its properties like codec formats , bitrate , etc., run the below command

ffprobe <file_location>

Process:

To add overlay video on image , run the below command

-y: Overwrites the output file if it already exists.

-loop 1: Sets the input image (input.jpeg) to loop indefinitely.

-i <input_image_path> -i <overlay_video_path>: Specifies the input files. input.jpeg is the background image, and overlay_vid.mp4 is the circular-shaped video to overlay.

-filter_complex: Begins the filter_complex section, which allows complex filtergraphs to be applied.

[1]format=yuva444p,geq=lum='p(X,Y)':a='st(1,pow(min(W/2,H/2),2))+st(3,pow(X-(W/2),2)+pow(Y-(H/2),2));if(lte(ld(3),ld(1)),255,0)'[circular shaped video]: Formats the overlay video to yuva444p color format and applies a circular shape to it. The geq filter is used to define the circular shape based on the luminance and alpha values. If a pixel is inside the circular region, its alpha value is set to 255 (opaque); otherwise, it is set to 0 (transparent). The filtered video is stored as [circular shaped video].

[circular shaped video]scale=w=-1:h=200[circular shaped video small]: Scales down the circular-shaped video to a height of 200 pixels, maintaining the aspect ratio. The scaled video is stored as [circular shaped video small].

[0][circular shaped video small]overlay=main_w-(overlay_w+10):main_h-(overlay_h+10): Overlays the resized circular-shaped video onto the background image. The overlay filter is used to position the overlay at the bottom-right corner, with a 10-pixel margin. [0] refers to the background image, and [circular shaped video small] refers to the scaled circular-shaped video.

Additional options used:

-filter_complex_threads 2: Specifies the number of threads to be used for the filter_complex section. In this example, 2 threads are used for improved processing performance.

-c:v libx264 -preset ultrafast: Sets the video codec to libx264 with the ultrafast preset for faster encoding.

-r 60000/1001: Sets the output frame rate to 60 fps (frames per second).

-t 10: Specifies the duration of the output video to be 10 seconds.

<output_overlay_combined_path>: Specifies the output file name for the combined image and overlay video.
